Michael Sanchez, better known as Sanchez, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2024 in Burnaby, BC. He was born to Corazon Belvis on July 10, 1985 in The City of Baguio, Philippines, moving to Burnaby, Canada in March 19, 1998.
Sanchez pursued his passion in mechanics and earned a diploma at BCIT. With nearly two decades of experience, Sanchez was a well-respected technician, sharing his knowledge with not only coworkers, but also with friends and family. He was recently recognized and awarded the "Exceptional Customer Experience Award", unfortunately he never had the opportunity to receive it. At Lougheed Acura, his work station will always, affectionately, be known as “Mikes Bay.”
He was a man of few words, but his radiant smile and infectious laughter would light up any room. His friends will always remember him as a master at fishing, a great travel companion, a brother with a hard exterior, but most importantly a heart of gold. He was our giant teddy bear that you could always count on.
Michael leaves a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his mother Corazon Belvis.
Michael was the sole provider for his mother. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to help support her during this difficult time.
On behalf of Michael and his mother, we would like to thank everyone for their generous donations. The outpouring of support is greatly appreciated as Michael's mother tries to understand the tragic loss of her son. Please continue to share this story and keep Michael's family in your thoughts and prayers.
As Sanchez would always say....
"It is what it is. We gotta do what we gotta do."
